James is responsible for the oversight of all group companies. He also leads our special projects function, which aims to develop our future income streams.
James is a family man who loves Yorkshire and the great outdoors, which drives his determination to make Lightwater Quarries one of the greenest and most sustainable quarrying companies in the UK.
With a degree in Management Studies, Fellow Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and twenty years of experience as a management consultant, James constantly looks for innovative ways of driving our businesses forward.
Stephen manages the Lightwater Group. With quarrying and concrete at its heart, the group also includes farming, leisure, property development and renewable and sustainable energy businesses.
Stephen is a chartered accountant and an experienced business leader, having held senior roles in the quarrying, construction, technology and media sectors over the last twenty years.
As an innovative and enthusiastic leader, Stephen is committed to the ongoing growth and success of the Lightwater Group.
Richard joined the business in November 2022 having worked within the industry for 20 years for businesses such as Lafarge, Hope, Breedon and latterly Tarmac. Richard has extensive experience in operations having worked his way up from a supervisory position in a large hard rock unit to leading operational teams across multiple sites producing aggregates, asphalt and concrete. Recently Richard has worked across various parts of Yorkshire in both operational and commercial roles for Aggregates and Concrete.
Richard is a Fellow of the Institute of Quarrying and is focused on continuing to develop the Lightwater Quarries business in a safe and sustainable way.
Neil joined the business in January 2023 bringing a wealth of experience in aggregates and ready-mix concrete. Neil worked within a family company for 10 years around North and West Yorkshire including Harrogate, Knaresborough, Leeds, York, Hambleton and Selby for 10 years. Neil then moved to Tarmac working across Yorkshire initially and following a promotion led the way in major projects to provide sustainable solutions and strategic plans for aggregates, inert waste, transport and ready-mix concrete to various major clients and projects across the North and Scotland region. The combined experience gained from working within a family business and a market leading multinational means that Neil is well placed to build on Lightwater’s successes.
With over 20 years of experience in quarrying and concrete, Andy works to fulfil our commitment to provide the highest standard of product and service to our customers.
Overseeing our transport and production functions, Andy welcomes a challenge and finding new and innovative solutions to meet complex customer needs is second nature to him.
By developing wide ranging and advanced operational practices in the quarry on through to the concrete business, Andy works with Michael to guarantee efficient delivery of the best quality assured material at all times.
Having been a volumetric driver, drum driver, batcher and face to face contact for years at Lightwater Quarries, Macca now looks after our volumetric and ready-mixed concrete business.
With industry experience in concrete technology, Macca can advise on available options to suit your needs in order for you to receive the best service possible.
Craig has been in production planning for most of his career and has an exceptional working knowledge of the complex logistics involved in shipping our products via an ever expanding fleet of vehicles.
Leading in Lightwater Quarries and Concrete4U customer service, Craig has a varying and dynamic role within the company, from checking that orders are taken accurately to ensuring the efficient distribution of our materials and day to day troubleshooting.
